On July 7th, PATH crews began the incredibly complicated process of moving Lenox Road between Georgia 400 and Piedmont Road to make room for the PATH400 Trail. In order to “squeeze” the trail between Lenox Road and the large retaining wall near Piedmont, PATH is reducing lane widths on Lenox Road from twelve feet to eleven feet and removing half of the median between the north and southbound lanes. A narrow linear park and trail will be built alongside Lenox Road within the newly created space.

Work within the Lenox Road right-of-way must be done at night to minimize traffic disruption. PATH crews are working between 9PM and 4:30AM to complete the Lenox Road relocation work.

In addition to the work on Lenox Road, the trail paralleling Georgia 400 from Lenox Road to Old Ivy Road has been cleared and graded. Retaining walls and drainage structures are being constructed so that trail installation can begin. This segment of the trail is scheduled to be completed before the holiday shopping season begins.

Future segments of the PATH400 will connect Old Ivy Road to Loridans on the north and Tower Place to Peachtree Creek at Piedmont Road going south. Additional phases will be under construction around the end of the year.

The PATH 400 project is being funded by Livable Buckhead, the Buckhead Community Improvement District, the State Tollway Authority, the City of Atlanta, and your donations to PATH. Well over half the funds needed to complete the trail from Loridans to Peachtree Creek have been secured.
